  • This four-session course equips theatre creatives with trauma-informed and consent-forward techniques to bring scripts to life safely and effectively. Participants will learn to analyze scripts for scenes that involve intimacy or other high-risk elements, identify and assess potential risks, and design choreography with consent in mind. Through practical tasks, they’ll gain skills in writing character descriptions that include intimacy needs, creating casting calls, crafting respectful choreography, and collaborating with intimacy directors. By the end of the course, participants will be prepared to support safe, respectful rehearsal spaces that prioritize the well-being of cast and crew.

  • This empowering workshop introduces actors to the role of an intimacy director and their own rights in the rehearsal room and on set. Participants will learn what to expect when collaborating with an intimacy director, explore key concepts of consent and personal boundaries, and discover how to advocate for their own comfort and safety in intimate or vulnerable scenes. Through practical exercises, actors will gain the confidence to ask essential questions, communicate their needs effectively, and actively contribute to a respectful, supportive creative environment. This workshop is ideal for actors of all experience levels who want to enhance their safety and comfort in performance work involving intimacy.
